GlobeCore Regeneration Equipment Presentation in Qatar

GlobeCore representatives visited Doha, Qatar, to showcase the company’s equipment for regeneration of electrical insulation oil.

The presentation’s objective was to familiarize representatives of the Qatar electrical power industry, including KAHRAMAA (Qatar General Electricity & Water Corporation), which supplies the country’s population with power and water, with the capabilities of GlobeCore equipment. Also were present the representatives of Al Dana Switchgear company (A Subsidiary of AALCO Group) which were the co-organizers of the event.

The attendees were presented with the equipment for purification of used electrical insulation oil to remove particulate matter, gases and water. After the initial familiarization, GlobeCore specialists demonstrated how contaminated oil is purified by a CMM type demonstrator unit. The processed sample came out much cleaner, without visible impurities.

Our colleagues from Qatar were also able to speak with our experts and ask them questions regarding operation of GlobeCore equipment. Some of the participants showed interest in the product; talks of extended cooperation is now underway.

We would like to specifically thank the management of Al Dana Switchgear (A Subsidiary of AALCO Group) for their assistance in organizing the event.

СММ-2,2 project was executed in Italy

September 17, GlobeCore started up and tested a CMM-2.2 unit in Foligno (Umbria), Italy.

This time, the startup and commissioning were carried out on site of a large locomotive manufacturer in Italy.

Italian railers use silicone oil in their locomotive transformers. The oil mostly consists of silicon atoms, its name comes from Latin “silicium” (silicon). This feature gives silicon oil the following characteristics:

  • stable temperature;
  • good heat transfer;
  • resistance to ignition.

Before every purification, it is necessary to ensure:

  • the unit is washed from the remains of the previous oil;
  • the filter elements are replaced;
  • vacuum column activator filters are replaced.

The tests showed CMM-2,2 purifying both mineral and silicone oils equally well.

Representative of LubeTeam Hydraulic Antonio Pisaniello highly commended the work of our company representatives: “We were present at the commissioning of the equipment for filtration of silicone oil for railway locomotive 402B of Ansaldo / Hitachi to in Foligno. The start up was successful. I am satisfied with the work done. I thank you and until the next time”

We are also grateful to our Italian colleagues and look forward to further cooperation.

Novelty in oil purification equipment at GlobeCоre

GlobeCore is a developing company that continues to please its customers by designing new equipment and improving old units.

In September, the company presented an upgraded degassing equipment for transformer oil – CMM-1H.

It is an improved version of a mobile oil station – CMM-1.0.

Like the previous model, the new unit operates on the principle of vacuum drying, which involves heating the oil and feeding it into the vacuum chamber, where, under the influence of low pressure, the water is evaporated and removed by a vacuum pump.

The new improved CMM-1H unit has several advantages:

  • smart heating control system;
  • a collection of water condensate;
  • a centrifugal (output) pump;
  • ease of management;
  • a separate connection for evacuation of transformer;
  • pumpless vacuum supply.

“Mojave Heat-100” is a compact hot air drying unit

Most stages of maintenance and repair work on power transformers require depressurization of their active part.

Depressurization can result in wet atmospheric air getting into the windings insulation, which is undesirable. To prevent this happening GlobeCore produces a “Mojave Heat-100” unit, the last model was shipped to the Customer in September.

The equipment carries out drying of transformer tanks with dry hot air with was previously purified from moisture and mechanical impurities. Also a “Mojave Heat-100” regenerates the adsorbent.

Technical characteristics of Mojave Heat-100

Commissioning of regenerative equipment in Spain

August 16 this year in Seville, Spain was completed the project of putting into operation  a CMM-2R plant for transformer oil regeneration.

The plant  includes all elements needed  to perform regeneration of transformer oil properties (filters, regeneration columns, pumps, tanks, electrical control cabinet, etc.).

This equipment can work in the following modes:

  • automatic regeneration of transformer oil;
  • regeneration with an external degassing unit;
  • reactivation of used sorbent.

The plant’s regeneration capacity is 0.3 m3 / h, and the duration of sorbent reactivation is less than 19 hours.

You can purchase a CMM-2R regeneration plant or get answers to all your questions on through contact information.

СMM-2,2 plant was started up in Jizan

August 8, 2017 our company’s operation personnel performed commissioning and adjustment of the CMM-2.2 unit  in  Jizan (Saudi Arabia).

This equipment is multifunctional, since in addition to cleaning insulating oils from mechanical impurities, water and gases, it also heats electric equipment with hot oil and vacuum drys power transformers. The plant’s capacity in drying and filtration mode, is 2.2 m3 / h, and in  degassing mode – 1.5 m3 / h.

Multiple oil passage through a CMM-2,2 unit provides oil purity with total gas content below  0.5% (at the initial 10.5%) and mass moisture content below 10 g / t (at the initial 50 g / t).

In order to assure easy movement both between transformers and electrical substations, the equipment is containerized and mounted on a single axle trailer.

Additional questions regarding this CMM-2.2 plant can be asked by contacting our managers  on the  contacts link.

Equipment presentations every year in Zimbabwe

A year ago, GlobeCore held presentations in the capital of Zimbabwe, Harare.

Unfortunately, not everyone was able to participate in the events. Therefore, our company was happily to give  another opportunity and to hold a series of presentations, this time in Bulawayo  in June 8, 2017.

The main attention was given to the electrical industry of Zimbabwe: and its issues in purification and regeneration of insulating oils, as well as vacuum treatment and drying of solid insulation of power transformers. Traditionally, the presentation included a practical part. The  laboratory UVR unit demonstrated oil regeneration on the real samples of contaminated industrial oil

GlobeCore is grateful to all participants for their interest and assistance in organization, and is sure that such annual meetings forge fruitful cooperation.

CMM-4/7: now in Finland

On May 31, 2017, the CMM-4/7 unit started its operation in Helsinki (Finland). First it serviced a 400 MVA transformer.

CMM-4/7 is a multifunctional unit  – it has three modes of operation:

  • First the unit warms up and then it starts processing oil in degassing mode. In this mode, the oil is heated to a set temperature, filtered, degassed in vacuum and passes through fine filtration at the exit;
  • The unit heats and filtrates oil in a vacuum column without degassing;
  • The unit diagnoses good condition and serviceability of all components (valves, pumps, etc.).

CMM-4/7 units are used in enterprises engaged in installation and repair of oil-filled high-voltage equipment in workshops and on-site. The processing rate of this unit in degassing mode is 4 m3 / h , and in  heating and filtration mode is 7 m3 / h.

Processed oil parameters:

  • Volumetric gas content – below 0.1%;
  • Moisture content by weight – below 10 g / t;
  • ISO 4406 industrial purity class  – / 14/12;
  • Mechanical impurities content – below 8 g / t;
  • Filtration fineness -5 μm.

The unit is connected to the transformer by TSS (Transformer Security System) to monitor the oil level and to protect the transformer from oil leaks or breaking of hoses.
