A Jordanian professional opens the seminar

Some of the systems discussed were the CMM-R transformer oil regeneration system, CMM-4/7 industrial oil purification plants and BV vacuum units, designed for evacuation of air, non-agressive gases, vapors and vapor/gas mix from trasformers.

The CMM-R sparked genuine interest among the participants of the seminar. This type of equipment is not new to Jordan, but the equipment is only now becoming wide spread. The nation is interested in maximum efficiency of latest systems employed  in power plants. This is just the equipment that GlobeCore offers to the clients.

Jordanian representatives were interested in sorbent reactivation, employed in such units. There were questions regarding the ability to use CMM-R plants for silicon oil reclamation.

Fully Automated Oil Recycling machine shipped

In 2014 GlobeCore has implemented a project involving supply, installation and commissioning of an automated CMM-0.6A mobile plant.

The unit is designed to remove solid particles and vacuum drying of transformer oil. The product’s viscosity must be below 70 cSt at 50 °С. Quality purification of transformer oil is facilitated by multiple passes of oil through a filter array and drying by applying vacuum and removing water vapor from the oil’s surface.

The main point of the unit is complete automation. This plant is equipped with a GSM module, allowing the unit to be controlled from cell phone, controlling process parameters transmitted as text messages.

Process automation eliminates down time and facilitates prompt emergency stop, if necessary, and also saves on labor costs.

The mobile plant is intended for use by high voltage oil-filled equipment installation, repair and operation facilities.

INPROCA and GlobeCore – a new partnership

Our engineers often travel to clients to provide startup assistance and staff training. Today we have a long list of countries were we supply and startup various equipment. And now this list includes a new country the Dominican Republic.

It would seem nothing special, but this is the first sale to that country. There is one more country in Central America from which we have received a positive experience, thanks to the INPROCA.

INPROCA started operations in 2003 and comes from the need of integral services in the area of consulting and predictive maintenance of electrical systems in facilities of the Dominican Republic. Today INPROCA teamed up with GlobeCore.

GlobeCore currently manufactures equipment, such as transformer oil purification and regeneration plants, bitumen emulsion plants, fuel blending systems etc. Specially for this client we are created a new versatile system, which allows not only thermal and vacuum treatment of dielectric, but also high vacuum transformer evacuation.

We combined CMM 2.2 with vacuum package BV 500. The result is a completely new unit, which permit quick and easy transportation to the outdoor transformers in need of servicing.

According to Hector Herrera, INPROCA’s Technical Services Chief Engineer, testing and starting equipment was successful; thanks to GlobeCore’s engineer Aleksandr Prystopiuk. INPROCA’s engineers emphasized the high quality of his work.

Thanks to the great guys at INPROCA.

GlobeCore sets course for East Africa

GlobeCore is a leading manufacturer of various equipment, such as transformer oil purification and regeneration plants, bitumen emulsion plants, bitumen modification plants, fuel blending systems and bio-diesel production system, employing over 150 staff on the production team based in Poltava, Ukraine.

Our products are well known in the USA, Europe and Asia. While we are open to business anywhere in the world, we are also focusing on Africa.

GlobeCore representatives often travel to clients”, says Stanislav Sukhar, GlobeCore’s export manager. “We provide operators with training and startup assistance, we also organize seminars to share our experience in oil purification and asset management”.

One such seminar was held in Kampala, the capital of Uganda last April. The focus of the seminar was the advantages of transformer oil regeneration by Fuller’s earth, and also on operational and environmental benefits of regenerating oil instead of replacing it.

Uganda and its neighboring countries are interested in electrical power development: within the next five years they will receive substantial investements from the World Bank to improve their national grids and make electricity accessible to population. At this time only 3 – 5% of Uganda’s population have access to electricity and there are many cities in the north of Uganda without electric power at all. Less than 2% of rural population has access to electricity, with less than half of that being provided by the national grid, other sources being household generators and solar panels.

According to Yevgeniy Svirid, GlobeCore’s lead engineer, traditional power plants are still the main providers of electricity around the world, despite the growing importance of alternative energy. Such power plants still need equipment replacements and upgrades.

Until Uganda receives the aid of almost 3.5 billion dollars over the next several years, which it needs for construction of Kawanda-Masaka transmission line and the related substation and 600MW power plant in Karuma, a lot can be done to preserve current assets – especially the most expensive of them, the power and distribution transformers.

Uganda Electricity Transmission Company Limited (UETCL) has teamed up with GlobeCore to upgrade their transformer oil purification plants. The company made its choice after a recommendation from Nigerian Power Holding Company, a partner of UETCL, which now operates eighteen GlobeCore mobile oil purification plants. UETCL fully understands the importance of transformer maintenance, says Christopher Mutyaba, the Head of Maintenance Department at UETCL. Accroding to him, transformer failures are, unfortunately, quite common, and cause frequent power outages. The population has to do without electrical power for six months, until a failed transformer can be repared or replaced. Mr. Mutyaba noted that transformer down time causes a significant loss revenue and growing customer dissatisfaction.

The latest in GlobeCore developments allow to address the issue of excessive foaming in the vacuum chamber of oil purification plants, which is often the case with old and contaminated oil. Since UETCL operates many remote substations, the oil purification plant is outfitted with fully automated PLC control system and a GSM module to minimize supervision.

The Ukrainian equipment is well know in Africa, especially so in Uganda. The country operates transformer oil filtration unit purchased back in 1991. While the machine is still in fair condition, GlobeCore can replace most of its major components required to satisfy the growing demand for the quality of transformer oil imposed by modern transformer manufacturers.

Trailer Mounted CMM-4/7 Transformer Oil Degassing System Delivered and Сommissioned

In early August our specialists delivered and commissioned a trailer mounted transformer oil degassing and oil purification system CMM-4/7 in Nigeria.

The company’s professionals started the system and provided personnel training for the client on site, specifically, at a transformer substations. The transformers underwent a full cycle fo repairs, transformer oil was processed to remove moisture and solid particulates, as well as gases, during oil treatment and adding of oil to the transformers.

Saudi client satisfied with operation of the Oil Regeneration Plant

The unit can process dielectric oils with viscosity of up to 70 cSt at 50ºС.

The main area of application of this plant is installation, repairs and operation of oil-filled high voltage equipment (switches, transformers etc).

The CMM-10 can operate in one of the three modes: transformer heating, oil degassing and vacuumizing of transformer.

The first mode filters and heats the oil, the second mode filters, dries and degasses the oil, while the third mode pulls vacuum on transformer directly.

The unit is simple and reliable, easy to setup and control.

In Maracaibo they use equipment of Globecore

GlobeCore equipment commissioned in Maracaibo. Last month, our company supplied and commissioned a USB blending system in the city of Maracaibo, Venezuela.

One of the local businesses needed an 18 cubic meter per hour blending system. By the way, Maracaibo is the second most populated city in Venezuela after Caracas, with over a million residents. The USB blending system was purchased to enhance the company’s versatility: with this equipment, manufactured by GlobeCore, any two to five liquid components can be blended continuously.

The system can be used for production of multicomponent motor fuels (including fuels with vegetable components) and bioethanol, as well as for blending of biodiesel with regular diesel. Furthermore, the USB system can be used for emulsification and homogenization of heavy fuel oil and water-fuel blends.

The distinctive feature of this blending system made by GlobeCore is the method of injection and hydrodynamic shock. This method allows to raise the fuel’s cetane number and prevent separation for as long as six months or more. Regular blending methods do not ensure fuel stability; the product may quickly separate.The use of the USB hydrodynamic blending system allows the following:

  • improved production capacity: (stock models can be customized for 5, 18, 20, 40, 60 or 100 cubic meters per hour)
  • significant reduction of process duration and improved product stability
  • improvement of profitability due to optimal product use
  • reduction of labor cost and the number of service personnel due to automation of the operation process
  • minimized product transportation idle time
  • unloading of the finished product directly into petrol tankers.

A transformer degassing plant successfully commissioned in Pakistan

In February this year a CMM-10-10M oil degassing plant was successfully supplied and commissioned.

The unit also removed solid particles from the oil and heats it.The order came from one of Pakistan’s electric energy companies. This country’s population ranks sixth in the world. A significant amount of transformers are engaged in energy distribution and consumption, therefore the issue of transformer oil regeneration is quite important in Pakistan.

The choice was made in favor of equipment made by GlobeCore, which has already built a name for itself in the world market. It should be noted that an identical plant was commissioned in Saudi Arabia the same month.

Some of the advantages of CMM-10-10M, which make it perfect for electric energy industry, are:

  • transformer oil is processed by heat and vacuum in one cycle;
  • regeneration of oil with this plant can extend its life time significantly;
  • the plant may be optionally configured as stationary unit (container, frame or tent) or mobile (on castor wheels or trailer);
  • the plant is quite simple and easty to operate.
